First MA:EA Anniversary! (plus mod(fangame?)'s current state of development)

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since last post here, but I have two things I want to share with you today.

First thing is...

MA:EA just hit it's first anniversary since DouClub initial release!

Using this opportunity I'd like to give you a massive thanks n' hugs for your support and feedback towards this mod/fangame! It has become my biggest and most ambitious project yet and I'm very sure there is much more for it to come. Sure, it's going to be a long way to make a full release of Gem's adventure but I'll try my best to make it possible and let it to become the biggest Cave Story-related project ever made. :)

It's been almost three and a half years since I started working on it yet I'm glad how it grows into something more than just being an "average Cave Story mod" thing at it's pre-reboot development cycle. but I'm still feeling unexperienced after all these years lol

Now to some fresh things I got for you related to development progress.

If you didn't see my little devlog on Twitter/X, I've implemented a bunch of things, such as:

  • Quest System - new feature allowing you to easily track which objectives you have (and from who). Upon getting/completing/failing/cancelling/updating quest you'll get a corresponding notification with colored borders for each instance. You can also select one of active quests to see it's additional info that updates if you progress through specific quest's objective.
  • New equipment type - Accessories. Gem can now put one of few done accessories to empower himself.
  • A few new weapons for you to slash around.
  • A few more secrets I've placed into the game :)

For now I'm working on revamping done portion of the game to make it much more interesting to play through. Currently I'm still working on new quests for Anzen Village residents (also, remember the locked doors here? Upon saving the losties (almost) all of them will be opened for you). As soon as I'm done reworking it's game pace on done part I shall make my move on making more content for MA:EA.

That concludes today's post. Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
